I have been a North American HO modeler for many years and after a trip to Germany and Switzerland I was amazed at all the variety and action that the European railroads had to offer. I decided to build a second European railroad and needed to find a source for the Euro models. There are a few large internet suppliers but I decided to try Erfurt Model Trains. They were less than an hour from home and I wanted to see the models up close. I emailed the store and set up a time to visit. Michael, the owner is very welcoming and took as much time as I needed. His shop is in the lower level of his home and by doing this he is able to keep his prices very low. His selection is better than some of the European stores I visited and while the engines and rolling stock are made as limited edition models his supply of track and accessories is very extensive. I’ve had some orders shipped and received the packages without delay. If European trains are what you are looking for then this is the place to go.
