The Home Depot

Doing a home renovation and was looking for some appliances and tiles. Having been to various stores and outlets we stopped into our local Home Depot. We had a fantastic experience at this store, mainly thanks to Brenda Mathis. Not only was she polite, patient, and knowledgeable, she went out of her way to help us, even going out front to get us an extra cart for our purchases.

In a world where manners are some times lacking and peoples time is short, meeting someone like Brenda give you a reason to smile!

Home Depot should be proud of her and their staff that a re like her!

In November, my partner and I came in to purchase a dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. A daunting task. But Sonya made it easy. She was helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and funny. Sonya made sure we understood what to do, what to look for, and the entire process. She went above and beyond to explain it all to us, as it was our first major appliance purchase for our new home. You can tell that the information she provided was due to her genuinely caring about the customer. She was wonderful. Thank you Sonya for all your help!!

Then the day of delivery finally came. The two gentleman who delivered the dishwasher and then installed the washer/dryer were wonderful. They was very nice and extremely helpful. They helped to remove the door to get the equipment in and helped to put the door back on (I could not lift it myself). The installation and removal of old equipment did not take long. And they tested everything.

Probably one of the worst customers service experiences I’ve ever had.

We stood by the are where the cut the lumber for you next to two associates. They acknowledged us and we watched them talk to each other for about 5 minutes before we walked up and asked them for help. They said we don’t work in the department and called someone. (If you acknowledged us and see us standing there waiting for someone to come by why not come over and mention we don’t work in the department. I saw they were talking and honestly didn’t want to interrupt them, I figured they were discussing something about work.)

We waited another 10 mini and saw an employee standing at the end of the aisle so I walked up to grab him. I asked if he could help out and you could sense the annoyance from us asking.

He went over to help and I told him a need a few pieces cut to which he said they only do the first two cuts. I pointed at the sign right behind him that said “The first two cuts are free. Each additional cut is $0.50.” I said if it’s an issue just forget and I’ll figure it out myself.

He literally ripped the sign out in front of me and said “This is the last time we do multiple cuts.” He complained and said he can’t find where 25 3/8” was on the ruler and walked away to grab someone else.

I couldn’t grab his name because he walked away so fast. Not only did I leave absolutely irritated and disgusted by this level of customer service, I left with pieces that were cut slanted and uneven.

*****UPDATE*****

The store manager reached out to me and personally apologized for his employee's actions. He asked that I stop by the store so that the situation could be corrected. I would like to say that I deeply appreciate the store reaching out to me so quickly to get this handled and help correct the situation!
