this Pioneer location is a medium-ish sized supermarket planted on Avenue D. it's very clean and brightly lit. it is very much a neighborhood grocery that caters to the needs of the locals in the area. Spanish-speaking is a plus. open til 10 on most nights.

your typical food staples and major national brands can be gotten here. i really like the fruits and fresh produce selection, here. there's a nice variety in the spice section. i needed to grab a bunch of different things like star of anise, coriander seeds, etc. and this section had me covered. despite carrying lots of food products, the market doesn't feel cluttered.

the staff is efficient and quick. haven't had a bad experience yet. checkout area is small...so lines can build up at busy hours. pleasant place to shop
