Noglu

Noglu is a charming little corner cafe on the upper east side. I was slightly horrified by the prices, but these are possibly the first truly uncompromisingly delicious baked goods I’ve had since learning I had celiac disease. Quiche, apple tart, banana cake, all excellent (albeit perhaps slightly on the too-sweet side). The pastry is thin but firm, and very buttery. The cake had a wonderfully crisp yet elastic outside and chunks of banana in its very moist centre.
Cons: the staff weren’t particularly friendly and had no clue about the veggie bowl. I ordered it anyway and it turned out to be a plate (go figure) of very ordinary undressed veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, cucumber, and a small amount of quinoa). Way overpriced at $24. Almost docked it a star but the baked goods were truly exceptional.

An amazing gluten free restaurant with tasty food. I thought the avocado toast was the best part. It was flavorful and a nice portion size. The pastries were also delicious. The staff was friendly and kind, and the service was good too. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This is a great place for people who want to eat gluten free.
The choice of food is very large. It doesn't matter whether you want to eat cold, warm, sweet or salty. This bakery has everything your heart desires.

A gluten-free bakery with a cozy vibe and a tasty food. Great selection of baked goods, pastries, pre-packaged sandwiches and salads. Grab to go or find a place inside or outside to enjoy what could be the largest selection of gluten-free menu items on the UES!

The highlight was the lemon tart, which I ordered based on one of the staff member’s recommendations. The flavor was perfectly balanced; the crust was delicate and delicious. The raspberry muffin was also light and well baked.

The sandwiches are not worth the steep price. The bread is poorly textured, tough and stodgy, with a crumb structure that comes off more like a flavorless cake. This location is more suitable for an afternoon tea-time rather than a sit down lunch. Stick to the pastries and it will be worth it.
