Beautiful daffodils in the spring! Lots of dirt hiking trails and loops. Small reptile house and very charming environmental center for kids. Highly recommend! Thank you, Monmouth County Parks system for keeping places like this in good repair for our families.
Visiting a friend, she took us to Huber Woods to take a 5 mile walk. It’s an interesting place to walk as it changes from open fields to small trails in the woods. Every few minutes of the walk felt different as the environment changed. Our friend runs at this park often and knows it’s history so we got a good guided tour. By the time we finished our walk the environmental center was closed so we will need to revisit the park to get to see it.
You can make your walk here as easy or difficult as you want depending on the trail you take. The trails are marked for XC skiing with Green, Blue and Black trail markers depending on the difficulty of the trail. It doesn’t work perfect for hiking as a skinny turning trail is easy to walk but harder to ski but it’s still a nice thing for the few days of skiing the park gets each year. I hope to get back to walking here again and to see the environmental center.
Parking is easy here and bathrooms are right off the parking lot in the information center. From the parking lot you can head almost any direction to find a good walk. Just keep an eye out for the trail markers. Take a pic of the map as there is no signage once on the trails.
Perfect outing with small children. The reptile house plus indoors nature center and hiking trails made for a great afternoon.
Great hike, nice with the leaves changing in fall
Good for bikes given not too difficult of elevation
Some of the trails were hard to follow, and some horse droppings created extra obstacles
But overall an awesome park to explore
Great place for easy walks/hikes. Trails are clearly marked and easy to follow. The Environmental Center was a great place to visit as well.
